He tells his parents that he loves them
No matter how much they laugh,
No matter how much they say they know.
Even when he is an adult living alone
He wants it to be shown
That no matter how old, he could remind them
That they were the reason why he had a home,
Why he never gave up and always had hope.
He knows that when they argued, they just wanted him to know
That they cared,
That they didn’t want him to be someone whom they would fear.
So everyday no matter what the age or year,
“I” keep on telling my parents that I love them
Because one day,
They won’t be here to hear.
I tried to help.
Tried to be the person you wanted him to be.
But in the end I guess I will be making my leave.
Because no matter how much it hurts, I will always have my own sleeve.
I’m not sad.
Just a little lonely…
But also happy.
Happy to see that as I leave, you will have that sense of relief.
Knowing that all this time you have hurt me.
But because of this, I can finally say a proper good bye.
To the person that I thought of all the time.
When you’re here I have nothing to fear.
You’ve kept the bond that held us near.
Without you I wouldn’t be here.
I’d probably be wondering somewhere over there.
But now it’s my turn to give you my share.
Let me protect you from your fears.
Because when you’re here I can take on any dare.
